A Visit To The Felixstowe Photographic Society Exhibition
Sometimes you discover something in your own town that has been happening right under your nose for years.
Yesterday I stepped out of the summer sunshine and into the cool, calm surroundings of Trinity Methodist Church Hall on Orwell Road for the Felixstowe Photographic Society Print and Digital Photography Exhibition.
Although this exhibition has been taking place every two years for many years, it was my first visit — and I’m very glad I made the effort.
From the friendly welcome at the door (and yes, admission really is free!) to the impressive display of photographs throughout the hall, it was a lovely way to spend a Wednesday morning.
Visitors are even invited to choose their favourite photograph — although I have to admit I completely failed at that challenge! There were so many different styles and subjects on display that narrowing it down to just one was impossible.
The exhibition shows just how much creative talent there is in Felixstowe and the surrounding area. Landscapes, wildlife, portraits, architecture and much more are all beautifully presented.
There was a steady stream of visitors enjoying the exhibition, but it never felt crowded. A seating area with a rolling display of more images also gave people a chance to relax and take their time looking around.
